Here are the things you need :
- Have a good voice (and by that I mean, have a voice that sounds good on a microphone)
- Have good command over the local language (telugu in our case), Hindi and English as well.
- Have good general awareness. Be tuned into the latest happenings in the world (read newspapers reguarly i guess)
- Have a good reason as to why you want to become a RJ. (Sounds like a cool thing to do is NOT a good reason)
- Listen to a lot of radio ! Know everything from how a RJ works to the no. of hrs he works.
- A degree in communications/ media will go a long way in finding you a RJ spot.
- Read up a lot on the Radio station that you are planning to apply to.
- Last but not the least, be confident like for any other job and believe in yourself.

The best and the easiest way to apply for a RJ post at any Radio station is to be proactive and apply for it directly rather than waiting for a talent hunt to start !
